Doug Martsch & Fantasy Basketball.... WHAT???
Steven Alexander, columnist at Rotoworld.com, writes a great Fantasy Basketball article complete with frequent references to various indie rock artists (he's a huge fan of Pavement/Stephen Malkmus, and has even drawn attention to how awesome Blitzen Trapper is...). He is currently in a fantasy basketball league based in Portland with Stephen Malkmus, members of Sleater-Kinney, and Doug Martsch among others.
He recently interviewed Doug for his column, and it's a cool read. It's awesome to see some of our favorite musicians talking about basketball. I don't know, it just tickles me the right way... here's the interview.

Album Cover of the Week #1
10cc - Deceptive Bends (1977)I'm often surprised by how uninspired and mediocre album covers are these days. This is one of the many great album covers that was created by Storm Thorgerson of Hipgnosis.
Okay, guys, I was wrong...
Last night Mike loaned me the Third Eye Blind CD because I had the hunger and it wouldn't go away, and this morning I decided to listen to it while I did my morning admin work. Here's how it felt:
I almost threw up. This CD is seriously bad. Even the singles didn't taste as sweet as they did the other day. I must've been drunk or something, who knows...
In any case, I found the perfect antidote:
